How To Post
an Ad
To post a new ad to the Chevy Trader .com, you must first
be a registered user. User registration is easy and quick. Simply
click on the Register Link provided on the Member Options menu on
the left to enter the requested information.
While your e-mail address is required to post an ad, it is never
revealed to anyone responding to your ad unless you reply to a reply
that someone has sent. E-mail addresses are not visible in the html
code that displays your ad details.
Once you complete the registration form you will be prompted to
login using the username and password you just created. After you
login click on the "Place Ad" link. You will then choose
the category of your ad. Categories are broken down by Chevy Model.
After choosing the category and clicking "Add Listing"
you will need to choose a package that suits your needs. Click
here to see the different packages and prices.
You will then fill out the details of your Chevy for sale. After
submitting the form you will be prompted to upload photos depending
upon which package you choose. After uploading photos you will confirm
your contact account information before paying for ad if not a free
ad.

Much Does it Cost to Place an Ad?
We currently offer 3 different price packages:
- Package #1: List Price
$9.99.
Special Price only $4.99 - Ad will run for 30 days. Only 1 photo allowed.
- Package #2: List Price
$19.99. Special
Price only $9.99 - Ad will run for 90 days and you can include up to 4 photos.
- Package #3: List Price
$29.99. Special
Price only $19.99 - Ad will run for 1 year, up to 10 photos, and your ad will be
featured.
Do
I Need to Register?
You do not need to register to view ads or to reply to ads. You
will need to register to use some of the features of this web site.
Registration is free. As a registered user, you may use the following
features of our classifieds.
MY FAVORITES
The "My Favorites" feature of our system allows you
to add specific ads you choose to a "personal page" which
may be retrieved in the future. It is useful when you are attempting
to "compare" several ads posted to the system.
PLACE AN AD
Post classified ads to our system. Categories are broken down
by Chevy model.
Register now
Your Privacy
All information on the registration form is required. You will also
be required to provide a unique UserName and Password which will
identify you on our system. ChevyTrader.com uses a Privacy Mail feature
which protects your e-mail address.

Can
I Include Photos in My Ad?
Yes, depending on the package that you choose. You can upload photos
of your Chevy when you place your ad. The image type must be in the
.jpg or .gif format.
Ads with photos get viewed over twice as often as ads without photos
so please try to provide a picture of your Chevy for sale.
If you have any problems uploading your photos you can reply to
your confirmation e-mail and attach your images and someone will
post them for you at no charge.
How
To Upload a Photo
After submitting your Chevy for sale info you will be prompted to
upload photos depending upon the package you choose. You will be
able to upload one image at a time.
You will be presented with two text boxes. The top one is to type
in a short title for the image. The next one has a button labeled
"Browse". To locate an image, begin by clicking the "Browse"
button. You will see a dialog box pop up which will allow you to
browse your hard drive and locate the image you wish to upload. Once
you have selected your image, you will see the path to the image
in the text area. You will now be able to upload the image by clicking
the "Add Image" button. There will be a message below the
button that will let you know how many images you uploaded and how
many you have left. "You have placed x of x images".
You may skip the the step of uploading images at any time by clicking
the button labeled "Skip This Step". You will be able to
add or change images at any time after your ad is placed.
The only file types which may be uploaded are *.gif and *.jpg files.
This is the standard image type for use on the Internet.

How
Long Will My Ad Run?
When you place your ad you will be able to decide how long your
ad will run depending upon the package you select. If your ad is
about to expire you will be notified be e-mail and you can come back
to renew your ad. If your Chevy has sold before ad is expired please remove your ad. If you attempt to replace the sold Chevy with another Chevy your ad will be automatically disabled.
Can
I Make Changes To My Ad?
Absolutely. To edit an existing ad you have posted to the system,
you must be logged into the site. Click the "Login" link
on the left menu and login with your username and password.
When logged in, you will be presented with your "Member Page"
which contains a list of options. Select the option to "Edit
Ad". After selecting this option, a list of current ads you
have posted will be shown. To view an ad's detail, simply click on
the "Info" link. This will show you all ad details and
allow you to verify that this ad is the one you wish to edit. Click
on "Modify" to make any changes to info or images. Once
all modifications have been made, click the button at the bottom
of the ad. Your changes will take place immediately.
If you attempt to replace a Chevy that has sold with another Chevy your ad will be automatically disabled. (Ads on site are really cheap... don't try to cheat.)
If you wish to make any changes to your contact information select
the "Modify My Account" link from your "Member Page".

Can
You Scan My Photos For Me?
If you do not have digitized photos of your Chevy for sale we can
scan them for you for free. Please send your photos to:

photos. If you would like your photos sent back to you, please also
send a self addressed, stamped envelope.
How
Will Potential Buyers Contact Me?
Buyers will contact you through the information that you submit
(phone number, e-mail) when you register. ChevyTrader.com uses a
Privacy Mail feature which protects your e-mail address. Instead
of displaying your e-mail address in the ad, a "Reply to Ad"
link is displayed. The person replying to the ad then sees a form
and clicks on a submit button to send their reply to you.

What
Do I Do When My Chevy is Sold?
If you sell your Chevy you can use our contact
form including your ad number and someone will remove your ad
for you. You also may delete or modify your ad at anytime by using
your e-mail address and password.
Browsing Ads
Ads posted to Chevy Trader are organized by Chevy Model that are
listed on the main home page of the classifieds system. Clicking
on a Chevy Model link will take you to a list of ads currently posted
to that area. Only a certain number of ads are listed per page. There
will be a "Next" link displayed if there are more ads.
To view individual ad details, click on the photo of the ad listed.
You will then be presented with the full ad listing as posted. Click
the "thumbnail" photos if available to enlarge the photos.
Saving Favorites
While you are browsing ads posted to the system, you are presented
with several options on the bottom of the ad. To add a specific listing
to your favorites page, simply click the link that reads "Add
To Favorites". You will be forwarded to a page containing all
your "Favorites" that you have saved where you can delete
any if necessary.

Searching
Ads
You can use the Quick Search feature at the top of all pages to
quickly located a Chevy Model for sale in a particular State. Just
select the model from the first dropdown and the State from the second
on and click "Go". You can search for all models in one
particular State or one particular model in all States by selecting
"All" from the appropriate dropdown.
You can use the "Advanced Search" link located at the
top next to the Quick Search to perform a more extensive search of
ads. On the advanced search page you will be able to search for particular
features like color and body type and also by price range. Zip code
radius search coming soon.
Replying To
An Ad
Chevy Trader uses a blind e-mail reply system where you must reply
to a specific ad using a contact form at the bottom of ad detail
page. We will not release a registered user's e-mail address for
you to directly reply to an ad.
After you have filled out the form, click the "Submit"
button, to send your message to the original poster of the ad. Your
e-mail address is provided to the user who posted the ad, but you
will not be able to obtain the e-mail address of the individual who
posted the ad unless they reply to your reply. It is then the responsibility
of the individual who posted the ad to reply to your message.
We log all replies sent to our users to help reduce spam, abusive
replies and fraud. When you reply to an ad, your e-mail address you
enter, your ip address, remote host name, date and time are logged
for our records. We do not release this information to any third
parties but will use it to investigate any report of spam or abuse
and may disclose this information to third parties who can assist
in taking action against any third party who uses the system or replies
to ads in a spamming, abusive or fraudulent manner.
We encourage all users to report fraud attempts, abuse or spam to
our system administrator. Please include the reply message you have
received and any other details regarding the abuse/spam and send
your complaint to the administrator.

Features
Sending An Ad To A Friend
To send a friend a copy of an ad, simply click the link on the bottom
of the ad detail page titled "Email A Friend". You will
be presented with a page to complete your name and email address
as well as your friend's name and email address. Type a short message
and an email from you will be sent directly to your friend about
the ad you found.
Printer-Friendly Version
Clicking this link will present you with a printable flyer of the
ad you are viewing. If ad details are too long it may print on more
than one page.
More ads in this category
This will show you a list of all ads posted in the current category.
More ads from this seller
This will show you a page with all ads that are posted to the site
from the same user who posted the ad you are viewing. If the user
is a Featured Dealer there will be a heading or banner on top of
listings giving your more info on the dealership.
Map It
When viewing ad details page there will be a "Map It" link
next to the City field in Seller Info. This link will open a map
on Yahoo and show you approximately where the Chevy For Sale is located
depending upon how much info the seller has provided. This will only
work for USA address and is not always accurate.
Website
If the seller has a web site that contains more info on the Chevy
for sale there will be a link in the "Seller Info" section.
Free "For Sale" Sign
If you are a registered member you will have a link on your Member
Page to "Print a For Sale Sign". This link will bring you
to form where you can enter your phone number to make an 8 x 10 for
sale sign that is suitable to display in your car window. Simply
print out the sign and fill in the deatails of your car for sale.
